The idea of reactivating schools in the context of social distancing still raises many questions. Especially when it comes to managing a big number of students attending the institution. Many countries in Europe are still exploring solutions to this problem.
Here are some great tips to help your school get started again without increasing risk
In some countries (for example, Denmark) solutions related to the free movement of children while maintaining a safe distance have already been tested in practice. It cannot be denied that schools differ on many important issues, such as the number of students or the size of the building. However, in any case, it is worth keeping in mind that the best solution is to divide the students and their mentors into small groups. This allows the contacts to be confined to a truly sealed environment.
How can this be done? Putting brightly colored identification bracelets on the hands of people attending schools will make it easier to recognize your group and the place of study. Thanks to this, the risk of contact with others is reduced to the necessary minimum.
What are the benefits of using ID wristbands?
- the low cost of the identification system based on wristbands does not pose a big economic problem for the school and parents;
- the short implementation time will allow effective group management to begin quickly, which will certainly reassure students, teachers and their families;
- a real reduction in the risk of infection by reducing the likelihood of interaction with another group in the building;
- hassle-free identification of potential risk groups and extremely fast intervention for proper management.
Practical examples of using the wristband identification system
Facilitate school entry and exit
Each educational institution has several security entrances and exits. Therefore, use them to properly plan student’s introduction to the building.
- Door A (main) is for a group with green identification wristbands
- Use door B (emergency) for students with blue Cinta wristbands
- Provide door C (back) for those with black Tyvek wristbands
However, if the school is small and has much fewer entrances, then nothing is lost. The specific color of the wristband or badge will correspond to the specific group that will be assigned the correct time to enter and exit the school.
Interior space management
Dividing students into groups allows school officials to control the number of people in the building and the observance of the fast in it. Restricting access to all classrooms will largely solve the problem of maintaining sufficient space and defined space in relation to the limit of people per square meter. As a result, the risk of infection between groups is significantly reduced, and students will learn to maintain distance between peers.
Group A, with black wristbands, has classes in rooms 1 and 2, while Group B is in 3 and 4. Group A will appear in the school canteen from 11:00 to 11:30 and after the previous 30-minute period, time for disinfecting the premises, the time will come for group B. The exception will be toilets and sanitary facilities, which will be assigned to certain groups — as you know, in such places the risk of infection is especially high! The aforementioned space management method can also be used in other places associated with the school, for example, in the green area in front of a building or at sports facilities.
Furthermore, ID wristbands can be equipped with their own sanitizing dispenser!
Pupils, students and school staff can use their own antiviral and antibacterial agents, making it even easier to maintain good personal hygiene!
